SUPERACCESSPACE

January 11 - February 17, 2003

Beatriz Barral

Superaccesspace, Beatriz Barral's installation created for Parker's Box, exemplified the evolution of the artist's work from unorthodox painting surfaces with allusions to architectural space, towards the takeover of the exhibition space itself. In both paintings and environments, the artist navigates through the loaded potential of highly colored or reflective surfaces in a "painting" language that can evoke high tech design or science fictional décor at the same time as architectural preoccupations ranging from the formalist to the psychedelic.
