Bruno Peinado and Simon Faithfull October 4 - November 4, 2002 Both artists have gained recognition in recent years with work largely based on their respective drawing practices, although these often give rise to installations, objects, videos. Simon Faithfull, has developed a practice primarily using a palm pilot as a sketch pad, allowing him to quickly record the world around him, before laser etching the resulting drawings onto various surfaces. Bruno Peinado also draws from the immediate world around him, but he is ultimately more involved in transforming/ regurgitating / repackaging this imagery so that it ricochets back at us from within the contemporary art context. |
