TIM LAUN |
||
WORKS | BIOGRAPHY | ||
Born 1974 Kiel, Wisconsin, USA, lives and works in New York, USA Tim Laun's work explores the territory of Americana, most frequently through the interrelated social phenomena of sport and advertising. Laun is interested in the way the contents of our world are often easily stylized, in order to be served back to us for renewed consumption. For example in his video work Green Bay-Tampa Bay, he simply offers amateur footage of a football game (filmed in the stadium during a freezing Christmas holiday) side by side with Fox Sports footage- complete with commercial breaks and the veneer of TV glamorization and marketing. |
